As with everything, there comes a time when change has to happen. For some, change is good; if it works, then why change? Atlantic City, we all know, has seen change after change. It used to be fine, but it didn’t last. As we enter post-pandemic and into the summer, we may see a return to glory, but a better one. Bally’s Casino, located on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, has undergone changes and was purchased two years ago by Twin River Worldwide Holdings. At the time, promises were made for massive renovations and to experience a casino resort comparable to its competitors.
What better way for this to become a reality than the start of the summer season. You got it right; Memorial Day weekend, witness the massive renovations that have taken place. Alongside a host of new restaurants and bars, there’s also a revamped card system for player rewards.
If your travels take you to Atlantic City, here’s what to expect this weekend:
The renovation includes 750 rooms and suites. Inspired by the heart and soul of Atlantic City, each room will feature a design of the relaxing coastal environment, inside and out. Brighter colors, brand new carpet inlays and new flooring. Suites floors 45-48 will feature 16 new penthouse suites equipped with dining areas, pool tables, wet bar and custom rainfall showers. You can experience spa-like bathrooms, sunken tubs with spa-like features of modern vanities, tiled lighted mirrors, and new shower heads.
Perhaps the most anticipated will be the new hotel lobby and carousel bar. The revamped lobby is a one-of-a-kind experience from arrival to departure. Carousel bar rotates 360. Similar to a hotel in New Orleans. Features include a 24-seat high-rise rotating bar, the first of its kind in all of New Jersey. Enjoy modern cocktails 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If anything, experiencing a full 360 in just 8 minutes is a must-see attraction. The Carousel Bar is a new addition, but the lobby has also changed for the better. You will experience a completely contemporary atmosphere in the lobby. Some of its features are multicolored lights and entertainment.
One of Atlantic City’s most remarkable properties is The Yard, which was once Harry’s Oyster bar. Beer, Eats, and Beats is a beer garden-style venue that features live entertainment, a gastropub menu, a local and national beer list, and a range of handcrafted cocktails under a glass dome. Plus, enjoy 90’s themed arcade games, with lounge-style seating and an indoor and outdoor stage for live entertainment.
The Yard will be expanded over the 4th of July weekend to provide an outdoor experience that will no doubt become a meaningful gathering spot on beautiful summer days and nights. Bally’s beach bar is arguably the best in Atlantic City and now offers Legends VIP Beach and Rewards for members’ private seating, butler service, towel service, beachside massages, security and food service and personal drinks. Reservations are required.
This grand opening celebration wouldn’t be complete without Sunday’s biggest fireworks display, seen from the boardwalk, The Yard, Johnny Rockets and Bally’s Beach Bar. This grand opening celebration kicks off Friday, a full weekend of fun and celebration, with a Jeep Giveaway Friday and Saturday.
In the game of Monopoly, Park Place and Boardwalk are the properties to own. It’s no secret that this large casino property has been neglected for a while. However, the renovations and added additions were overdue. The new owners wanted a property they could be proud of, and now they’ve got it at Bally’s.
